--- ## **Project Spotlight: The Data-Driven Discovery Map** **Role:** Creative Technologist **Tools:** Rive (State Machine), After Effects, Tableau, Internal Data Systems ### **The Complexity Challenge** During a high-stakes regional tradeshow, the sales team needed a way to move beyond "feature lists" and engage Georgia county officials in meaningful, localized conversations. The "chaos" was a massive dataset of disparate county metrics that were too dense to present in a static deck or a standard website. ### **The Architectural Solution** I designed and engineered a logic-driven interactive map using **Rive**. Rather than a simple graphic, I built a **State Machine** that allowed for real-time, tap-driven comparisons. - **Systemic Interaction:** Each of Georgia's 159 counties was treated as a distinct node. Tapping a county triggered a "state change," instantly populating the UI with specific financial and demographic data relevant to that jurisdiction. - **Conditional Animation:** I used Rive’s listeners and inputs to create a "relevance-driven" UI. The map would visually highlight "peer counties," allowing sales reps to show prospects exactly how neighboring jurisdictions were successfully utilizing the platform. - **High-Fidelity Polish:** I integrated high-impact motion assets from **After Effects** into the Rive environment, ensuring the tool looked like a premium, enterprise-grade solution while remaining lightweight enough to run in a web browser or on a tablet. ### **The Outcome** The project reframed the original marketing brief from a "spectacle" into a **strategic sales enablement tool**. - **Reduced Friction:** Sales reps could "get to the point" in under 30 seconds by showing a prospect their own county's data. - **Tamed Complexity:** We took 159 different data stories and unified them into a single, intuitive interface. - **Business Impact:** The tool became a centerpiece of the booth, driving 40% higher engagement than previous years and providing the conversational "hooks" needed to move prospects into the RFP pipeline. ---
